I provide therapy to women experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, or many common experiences like perfectionism, self-criticism, and unhappy relationships.
My individual therapy sessions are characterized by compassionate connection and therapeutic practices like mindfulness, body awareness, EMDR, parts-work, self-compassion, and nervous system regulation. I bring these practices to the therapy room in order to help my clients build skills they need to reconnect with their bodies and their truest selves. I look at each client as an individual impacted by their life experiences. Often, we create maladaptive behaviors like perfectionism, self-criticism, and rumination as a way to keep ourselves protected from past hurt. Therapy is all about looking at those behaviors and recognizing when they are no longer needed, or if there are other ways to care for ourselves that don’t increase internal pain.
As a client progresses through therapy, they deepen their awareness and control of their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and body. Painful patterns loosen as they learn to slow the time between an upsetting event and their reaction to it. They become more self-compassionate and more resilient as they navigate challenges. They experience more humor, energy, and joy.
